About Michael

Michael Pierro is an award winning filmmaker and editor. His work spans a variety of genres, from dramatic feature films, to fast-paced TV and visually dazzling music videos.  

His feature film directorial debut, Self Driver, a fast paced pitch black comedic-thriller, premiered at Fantasia in 2024, where it took home the New Flesh Award for Best First Feature as well as the Audience Award for Best Canadian Film. The film has been picked up for distribution in Canada by Mongrel Media, slated for release later in the year

His TV editing credits include Workin’ Moms, the Crave Original New Eden, and Baroness Von Sketch Show for which he won a CSA for editing. His feature credits include award winning films such as Room for Rent (2017), Honey Bee (2018), and The Last Porno Show (2019) among others, as well as numerous short films and music videos for artists like Gord Downey and Jenn Grant.

Michael lives in Toronto with his wife, daughter, two cats, and a fish named Lollipop.
